Steven & Cynthia have been happily married for more than 25 years and they have 3 lovely children. As volunteers in the marriage ministry for many years with Faith Community Baptist Church, they initiated the Building Strong Marriages program in 2002 for the public.
They have a strong passion to help 2 groups of people:
- pre-marital couples prepare for marriage as well as
- married couples enrich their marriages.
Their ultimate aim is to see married couples enjoy fulfilling marriage & build strong families.
Over the years they have successfully trained at least 10 mentor couples as instructors & Facilitators to run the Building Strong Marriages program.
Both Steven & Cynthia are certified Prepare-Enrich Instructor with Life Innovation Inc, USA, a powerful marital assessment developed by Dr. David Olson. Steven is accredited Director for training of PREPARE-ENRICH Program.
Both Steven & Cynthia are also certified Instructor for Parenting with Confidence, a parenting program developed by Focus on Family.
Cynthia graduated from the University of Singapore in 1980 majoring in Social Work. Since then she has been involved in Social work, particularly in the Marriage and Family sector for many years.
Passionate about building strong marriages and families in Singapore, Steven embarked on the role of Family Life Ambassador (FLA) at Ministry of Community, Youth & Sport (MCYS) in 2002. He was appointed as Deputy Registrar of Marriages/Licensed Solemnizer (DRM/LS) in year 2005.
Steven & Cynthia are also active in the running of Exclusive Match a professional agency servicing people who are serious in looking for life partner.
